As an American, you will be discriminated against: - Less PTO than French Expats or young French professionnals (VIA), even if you have more experience or seniority than the latter - Lesser salary than French expats or young French professionals, even if the latter are usually younger and less experienced. - Barely any opportunities to move up as 99% of managers and directors are French nationals - You will have to fill your taxes as if you were self-employed, but without the benefits since you cannot claim any work-related expenses - HR in France does not care for foreign local hires (I have not spoken to them in 5 years) and there are no real HR in the US
