Cons
Burberry is slowing falling out of the customer's favour in recent years. The sales was stagnant before the new designer and it is a struggle to gain new clientele with the new design direction. result of this is they made the retail staff's life really hard. 1, you get all these new expectations and new duties while your pay stay the same. 2, retail staff get all the blame if the sales is not good. 3, You are constantly policed by managers, visiting head office people on whether you followed every steps they wrote in the customer journey handbook even it is sometimes not very natural. 4, Aggressive sales style expectation. They want you to jump on the customer as soon as they walk in and they want you to ask them to buy everything available in store regardless what they are looking for. 5, They want you to capture all customer's contact details even they are just browsing. 6, No progression in this company, you need to wait 4-5 years to just progress the the next level which only pays for 5k more. They always bring in outsource talent. 7, The HR encourage retail management to be mean and harsh to staff so if the long serving staff don't like the changes they can leave the company themselves. Absolutly toxic work environment. 8, Last but not the least. Burberry as a big FTSZ 100 cooperation machine. Its lack of agility in reaction to changes are slow and conservative and not suitable for a ever so changing world.
