Pros
I've worked at BrightEdge for over two years, and if there's one thing I can say about this company is that it bets on it's own people a ton. I started out as an entry level sales rep and within 1 year was given the unique opportunity (for a 23 year old) to take on my own team and become a sales leader at this fast growing tech company. Despite having ZERO management experience, not a single executive wavered about giving me the chance to take on the role. My boss and all our senior leadership team have had confidence in me from day 1 and have given me all the tools and resources to become as successful as I wanted to be. All I had to do was open the door and walk through it. There isn't a better place to start your career coming out of school than BrightEdge. Our fast pace and constant growth lends itself to people like myself to push themselves towards their goals and being given first crack at new and exciting promotion opportunities. I have treated each and every day as a chance to learn something new, and as a result I have seen a ton of personal and professional development in such a short amount of time. If you're the type of person that doesn't sweat the small things and wants to be successful at an early age, then BrightEdge is the company that you need to be at. While software sales can be high pressured, as long as you can stay grounded and keep your eyes on the ball it can be a piece of cake. I've had my fair share of ups and downs in both of my roles, but I've learned a ton from every scenario and have become a better and more competent professional as a result. As long as BrightEdge continues to invest in me and my success I can guarantee I will continue to invest and contribute to the company's success.
Cons
Sale roles are quota driven and fast paced. If you can't handle that then this isn't the place for you. But if you can adapt and open yourself up to learning new processes and a different approach you will find a ton of success here. There are also a ton of resources at your disposal to learn about the industry, the company, the technology, sales etc., but if you don't take the initiative to take advantage of them then you will miss out.
