Pros

They have free-flowing hot and cold water. They also have free transport accommodation.

Cons

These are what you might face: 1. Low morale Know that most of their workers have almost always no motivation to go to work because of the toxicity of the workplace. This is because of the administration as well as its agents that if need be, they wouldn't even need you. The administrators almost always disregard their employees. You will be as disposable as a paperclip in this company. You will never be appreciated unless you tell them to. There was one time during the surge of typhoon Odette, their Japanese staff was completely oblivious to the situation and even scolded their employees for having evacuated one phase. In other words, you are nothing to this company. 2. Lack of Communication - One-way communication where the administration is always right. The employees have neither right to complain nor do they have any say in anything that the "administration" would say. 3. Apprehensive policies, major punishments – including your contract. - What they say, we do. This company is authoritarian in that it insists on policies that almost always lead to an employee's punishment. In other words, the company almost always chokes its employees with policies that are aimed to demotivate. Think of it like being in a prison. They can even change your contract immediately without consultation or a heads-up. It happened, and it was a salary change. 4. People in middle management (Filipinos) are just figureheads - Filipino administrators are just designs meant to comply with Philippine rules. They don't really solve issues more like they shrug and brush them under the rug. Apart from being unqualified, they also do not possess the necessary skills to prevent problems before they even rise. They are what one might call: “yes” men. They are defensive to the higher management, they are oppressive against their employees. 5. Administrative clownery and delinquency - The administration has often crossed against its own policies. In fact, a meager response to any issue is to look back to the contents of the employee manual which the administration itself explicitly violates. This delinquency, when confronted against them, is simply shrugged off and responded to with contra persona responses as well as the assassination of characters through memeing and other senseless activities unbecoming of professionals. 6. Excessive bureaucracy, ineffective and redundant. - Redundancy in administrative positions leads to depravity and a decrease in numerous critical working areas such as those of the tutelage. Imagine around 20 people with 2-3 persons each working on the very same title. Imagine that number and consider the facts as I write. There was one time that they changed the contract without notice. They were demanded to establish a new contract highlighting the changes. They shunned saying: "We are all busy." Imagine 20 people, all are busy. Quite impossible, don't you think so? In fact, since the bureaucracy is excessively populated, one might find it difficult to blame the responsible for the incurred problems at the end of the day. 7. Cost cutting - The company has always been an implementer of cost-cutting techniques. These techniques, though well within their right, is outright abusive. The company cuts off airconditioners in the guise of “maintenance” to which no maintenance team arrives or there are no actionable concern to attend to. This is confirmed when the morning shift usually operates with full airconditioners but the afternoon shifters do not. 8. Management is abusive, a bully, gaslighter, and manipulator at best - The administration is usually apprehensive when corrected. The most common theme of their response stems from the notion of self-protection than resolution and compromise. The ministration resorts to bullying through memeing and silencing, gaslighting through indicating that you are paid, that you should be thankful for having been accepted thereto, or manipulated in ways that the company shows you manipulated figures to bring you to their side – something that the uncritical would be unwilling to dispute. In fact, you’ll be challenged to bring up to DOLE their issues because they think that there is no one willing to go beyond the measure. If you are challenged DO BRING THAT TO DOLE. 9. Salary concerns - The company sometimes changes salaries without informing ahead or they do inform but do otherwise (like indicating a schedule but implementing a week before.) This happened a few times. Additionally, their accounting system is more of a joke granting that your salary would be displaced, deducted too much than the appropriate measures, or otherwise given to other workers. This must be because of the unqualified nature of most of the administration. 10. Late resolution of problems - The heading explains everything. Problems from the office are shrugged to the side until they are no longer remembered or be so advanced in time that they could no longer be responded or resolved to. Sometimes they act as if the problem will resolve itself. One wonders with endless thought why problem-solving comes to be difficult for the company. 11. No career growth/Questionable promotion procedures. - Be silent, be promoted – this is the principle that this company has. There are a few equally worthy individuals in the workplace that is deserving of promotion, however, they could not be for having offended the administration. There is also no career growth as you are seen likewise with a robot and equally disposable as a paperclip. Other questionable promotion procedures include being promoted despite not having been in the job for a month or two whilst those engaged above 6 months wallow in the same position. 12. No due justice for violations coursed. - Most of your violations are deemed final and executory. You are not welcome to defend yourself nor are you believed in because the administration always takes your word tongue-in-cheek. If you want a job that should feel that the transaction is genuine, this job is not for you. Your defense will mean nothing and will do nothing in the weight of their decisions. Remember it’s you vs. the company. 13. Shadow enforcers of rules. - Most of their rules are designed to keep you uninformed. In fact, their rule book is password-protected despite being declassified for current employees. To that point, you are almost always granted violations using “invisible” rules. Sometimes or most of the time, these “rules” are mere concoctions and not necessarily in the rule book. Additionally, the enforcers of these rules just list you down extrajudicially without approach or information. These enforcers are also biased based on the gender and physique of the persons there involved. 15. Culture of micromanagement - Your break times and even your 5-minute post-class breaks are not yours to own. This is the philosophy of the company. In fact, when wanting to go to the comfort room you still have to ask permission. When on break you are required, like a robot, to complete your quizzes and tasks. This culture of micromanagement is so damaging that it destroys personal productivity. This micromanagement technique only enhances the company’s “productivity” because they believe that you are paid by the hour and every hour idle is wasted. If you want to be free in doing what you want during your break, better steer clear if you don’t want to be micromanaged. In fact, you cannot even do anything in your browser apart from what they want you to do. My last word as to this review would be: Why would one even join this company when in the first place it has a high turnover rate? Caveat operarius, indeed. The (prospective) worker beware! There is a claim as well that this is a BPO company. Nota bene as per its definition and as per most experiences, BPO companies reject this notion as it is a language school and not a business process outsourcing company as they claim to be. If this does not make you change your mind, then good luck! You’ll be out in a month or two.

Pros

Not bookings-based, you get paid even without classes.

Cons

You cannot see reviews about your performance, which makes it difficult for you to reflect on and improve your teaching. If you're like me, who enjoys teaching, this might not be for you, as you would sometimes have little to no classes.
