Pros

The amount of work hour flexibility you get with this job is high. As long as you do what is expected of you, it can be great. It's a good entry level role to learn about the industry and learn about designing and manufacturing OEM equipment. If you want to become a subject matter expert in end-of-line case packing equipment, this is your spot. There is a good small-town feel with friendly coworkers.

Cons

There is little expectation to go above and beyond amongst peers. There is a strong, "Glad it's Friday" mentality across the board. There are a lot of local employee referrals as it is a rural area. The amount of work depends on machine orders oftentimes directly relating to the federal interest rate, causing high-stress peaks and mind-numbing lows. ProMach is not a manufacturing company. It is a private equity management company that focuses on buying other companies for their portfolio so that its current owners can raise its value and sell it to the next. The company gets new ownership every four years or so. This change in ownership doesn't change day-to-day operations at all, but it does create the priority for it and its brand companies to be beholden to the almighty dollar.
