Pros

Provides good transferrable skills, the part time positions are easier to get into, provides decent extra/side income

Cons

Doesn't provide a living wage for the entry-level positions, hard to get a full time position especially without an MLS/MLIS, not for people who don't like customer service, you will likely have to work every other weekend

Leadership was great (at my location), benefits are decent, most people in the department are kind.

Cons

pay is low, the educational assistance program is very meek, depending on your branch, working with the public can be stressful, hours are a bit of a stretch.
