Pros
Salary, benefits, co-workers, there are some amazing managers/team leads here. Unfortunately, the bullies are allowed to continue creating toxic work environments.
Cons
Toxic upper management, toxic work culture around using sick time (don’t ever), don’t go over your chargeable hours goal at FYE, so work the entire month or last 2 weeks of Sept without entering any time into your timecard. For researchers, you are expected to bring in funding/new projects, but you have to do all of this on your own time. I’ve seen emails where people are literally begging for a charge code to work on a proposal and they get no time to work on 30 page proposals. Upward mobility options for women who have shown years of loyalty to the Lab and their work can also be limiting.
