Pros

I worked with some great co-workers that will stay life long friends.

Cons

The work life balance is non-existent. Even in a lower level positions you are expected to answer during off hours. In the beginning the company was great and I did learn a lot. However, as time passed you realize the expected work load is impossible to keep up with. I didn't quiet grasp how unrealistic the expectations were until I started a new position and saw how work loads don't have to be so impossible to meet. When you reach out to management they seem like they will work on the issues you bring to them but nothing ever changes. People are in positions they shouldn't be just to keep the office fully staffed, and others are expected to pick up the slack. There is a ton of of turn over due to this issue. The company's leadership took the COVID-19 pandemic very lightly and weren't very forthcoming with trying to help employees and keep them safe and comfortable. Remote work was 100% possible and was allowed for a short period, but soon they expected employees to return outside of their comfortability. Even though employees executed work wasn't suffering when remote working. It felt as if management wanted us back in the office to try and encourage our tenants to come back. Vacation and sick time are lumped together as "PTO" and is very minimal. Pay is also extremely low not only for the industry but especially for the work load your are expected to have.

Pros

Management and the leadership team truly care about their employees at Basin Street. Employees are heard when they voice concern or feedback, and management is always willing to help find a solution. There are numerous staff that have been with the company 10+ years, which is positive and encouraging. Processes have evolved over time, as they do with any company, but with patience, teamwork, and willingness to learn something new Basin Street overcomes and comes out even better on the other side.

Cons

There have been staffing challenges, as there are with any company. Definitely personality driven, not the company.

Pros

The office is in a nice location.

Cons

There are plenty of cons, as you can see from the reviews this year alone. The worst con personally was the blatant lying to my face, because they did not know I knew the truth. The second worst was being on a growth plan only for them to constantly find ways to not promote from within. This place will mess with your mental health if you care about what you do. I ended up starting therapy to find ways to cope with the daily toxicity. The work environment is not toxic in the normal way, but in a condescending way. No one is happy, there is constant complaints about management and upper management always feels blindsided when someone voices this. Please don't voice your opinion though, there will be retaliation, such as management calling your peers into their office to ask if they like you or are getting along. The turn over truly speaks volumes, no one wants to leave a job, unless there is something wrong with the current environment. When someone leaves (which is very often) they just find new team structures to pass off the workload with no pay increases. Demoralizing environment.
