Pros

The people here a great

Cons

This is the most terribly run business from an operations standpoint. Getting anything done is so difficult. Technology here is horrid. Onboarding is broken. HR knows nothing if you can even get a hold of someone by submitting a ticket and waiting a week for an answer that is less than sufficient. There’s no way to reliably search for basic things on the intranet. MySource Social is a disaster. No service managers to take suggestions from daily users of systems who know where the pain points exist and could actually improve processes. Managers are responsible for things they have no idea how to do. Laying off people to make your numbers for the quarter, and before year end bonuses, only to hire like crazy a few weeks later and holding the remaining people accountable for the work that isn’t getting done. Work life balance is a joke in some areas. Can’t afford to pay enough to keep the highly skilled people. All the whole , sr management raking in millions as they cut people who are near retirement. Try to create a good culture by treating your people like numbers. We may as well just be referred to as our number rather than by name.

Pros

There is real opportunity for career and skill growth. The company runs short on head count, so people willing to take on more responsibilities have avenues to progress. However, you will need to force the issue for promotions & large salary increases after you prove your capabilities. Realistically it'll take an external counteroffer to move the needle.

Cons

It's a large bank and you're a number in the system. If your NPV is positive you'll stay, else you'll be laid off. This includes both scenarios you control and those you don't. Ex. You control your performance, in office time and networking You don't control if your location is a strategic growth site, if a major client goes with a competitor, or if you'd be impacted by a general company-wide layoff plan.
