Pros

Management Trains you well so you understand the industry. Management is very competent and knowledgeable.

Cons

Pay is terrible at Avenue which is why I left and compensation is not clear until you are 6 months deep into the job. Once you get on so called uncapped comission you only get 20% of the full comission until you hit a mark of $4,200 then management decides when you are entitled to the full amount Ex: I booked 96 loads one month made them $22,000 and would have been entitled to $3,000 in comission but because I did not hit $4,200 I only got $600 on top of a base salary of $42,000. It is not worth it for the long hours you work and little work life balance you have compared to other 3pls. I know people employed at avenue that were not on full comission until 2 years deep into being employed there.

Pros

Potential to make good money If your vibe is chaotic, startup energy, with zero polish, a management team held together by vibes, and structure that's more of a suggestion, you'll thrive here

Cons

This job is a trap. When you finally leave, you realize you're light years behind your peers in the corporate world. "skills" don't translate, the culture doesn't prepare you for anything beyond these walls, and it stunts your career perspective. I feel like I wasted critical years right after graduation while everyone else my age was learning transferable skills, moving up, and building real careers. When everyone around you is also in their first job at 22-25, the learning curve turns into an echo chamber and there's only so much growth you can get when nobody in the room has actually done the job, or a job long enough to offer real perspective. They promote successful salesmen to leadership, not because they have real leadership ability. They just recycle. Nothing changes because leadership is a copy paste of itself.
