Pros
Standards of safety practices can be extremely inconsistent crew to crew, region to region, but overall are alright
Cons
Management is terrible about supplying necessary equipment, repairing damaged tools/equipment, etc. rules are applied inconsistently and are different person to person or depending who is present. Management is very disconnected from fieldwork and that divide is growing intentionally. Essentially anyone you don't see day to day is extremely unresponsive and will tell you whatever is necessary to end the conversation and not have to follow up on anything. Professionalism is preached but very rarely practiced. Finally, and most importantly I think, tool restrictions are extremely hard on your body and huge wastes of time. Essentially the training wheels are permanent and you are presumed brain dead.
