You can be made to feel like you are inconveniencing the management for taking vacation, they will often play things safe so there can be little creative freedom (this mirrors other comments about a lack of innovation), bad direction (to quote, "make it cool, but hot"). My experience was unfriendly, disingenuous & bad tempered management. I've heard many P.A.s say it is difficult to move up in the company. It happens, but was pretty rare.
