Pros
I spent just over one year at ARIES and felt extremely satisfied with the entire experience. Main reason for leaving was because of the commute, found a place much closer to home. Aries will challenge you, but if you can work on your own and within a team concept and have the ability and desire to figure out problems and fix them, the repair department is perfect. This job isn’t for everyone, so not expect to come to work everyday and expect to be a social butterfly. There is work to do. Aries has gone through a lot of changes in the little over a year I was there, all for the positive and I see it paying off big time in the near future.
Cons
For me it was the proximity to my house. LONG commute, but I knew that coming in, obviously. Only real thing I didn’t like was how they treated vacation time in relation to OT, which there is a lot of. The OT will probably die down soon because of the changes being made and excellent crew put into place, they will get caught up. But when I was there we had a lot of OT and if you took vacation time, that wouldn’t count towards your 40 hours. If you worked M-F, 9 hour days (which was typical) if you took a vacation day one day of the week and worked 9 hours the other 4 days, you would get paid for 44 hours of straight time because it would break down as 8 hours of vacation and 36 hours worked. Minor thing but it always bugged me a little.
