Pros

- swanky downtown office 21 floors up - free coffee - some very intelligent and kind staff members - a general sense of "we all work for the worst company together" vibe which helps make working for the worst company a bit more bare-able. - competitive pay and benefits

Cons

- Uses Black Lives Matters, Woman's Equality, and LGBT2Q+ movements as catch phrases/social media fodder but in reality does not do anything internally to lift up these groups. - HR is completely performative. Zero interest in actually protecting/advising staff. - Toxic work environment (under both former and current CEO). - Nepotism runs rampant. ESPECIALLY from current CEO Helen Murphy. - Honesty in your work is not valued here. Even if it is coming from a place of experience, knowing, and is backed up with factual information. - Helen Murphy lacks leadership, inter-personal, and motivational skills to hold a CEO position. She rules with an iron fist and doesn't have the sense to know to ask for help when she doesn't know something. - Not completely certain (based on first hand experience) current CEO Helen Murphy understands the difference between Master Ownership and Publishing Rights ownership in music and how those two things interact within the company depending on the project. - Staff asking for fair compensation in line with the work being asked of them is responded to with reprimand. - Constant turn over and staff purges due to which most staff live in constant fear for their jobs.

Pros

The team around the CEO is great. But they're not allowed to shine.

Cons

The CEO, Helen Murphy, is the most under-qualified person in management that I've ever seen in the music industry OR any industry for that matter. She listens to no one and makes the worst decisions possible. She's had to have cost this company at least a million dollars and that's on the low end. A terrible leader who has no pulse on what is happening within the company or the industry. She also has found a way to use the company for her own personal means which is deplorable. Although she actually brought in some qualified consultants even most of them were forced to leave due to her ineptitude. Perhaps they, too, couldn't take the constant lying and posturing that goes on. I'm actually not sure how she got this job to begin with. I was happy to see a woman rise to leadership in this company but, unfortunately in the end, I have been sadly disappointed. Women are talked down to and made to feel small. At least she does it to the men as well. Thankfully, I have moved on to other employment but I feel very sad for the people left behind, although I suspect they will all continue to leave one by one.
