Pros

- Met some really great consultants at the company - L&D training and specific trainer - Great marketing manager

Cons

Unfortunately the reality of what was offered in the job interview is far from what you experience working at Amicus. Benefits such as, flexible working and work from home days are not welcomed. There is awful leadership from Directors/Founders within the business including: micromanagement, daily checks on phone times, praising overworking, being told 'it's not wise' to leave at 5.30pm, encouraging burn out and constant comparison to other consultants. There is little to no communication throughout the company, and often consultants aren't consulted on serious decisions that would affect your day to day work. The lack of communication and whispers between top level management create a terrible work place culture. Scare tactics are used to ensure you get your head down and stay later than your working hours. Therefore, consultants don't want to speak out and give feedback as they are scared of the repercussions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, although we are disappointed to read some of the comments. It’s regretful that short time you were with Amicus was unsuccessful. We are very honest with both current and new employees that recruitment isn't a 9am - 5:30pm career. It's an incredibly rewarding career, but as one of the most competitive & demanding sales roles in the world, it requires dedication, hard work and ambition to be consistently successful. We’re clear that if you’re not looking for a career, but instead are looking for a job where you can clock watch or do the bare minimum required, then recruitment isn’t for you. We offer flexibility and working from home options for employees once they have passed probation, however if someone is significantly underperforming and would benefit from additional support & 1-2-1 training from the in-house L&D manager, then we would recommend that person would benefit from being in the office. It’s important to highlight that if a manager draws attention to the fact that someone has made zero calls in an entire day, in a role that by design is to speak to people, then this is not ‘micromanagement’, it is simply ‘management’. The suggestion of ‘taking on board other ways of working’ is helpful, providing it’s not the one that yields no results. We wish you the very best of luck and would be more than happy to discuss any of your comments in person if you wish to do so.

Pros

Leaving for the day and having weekends off/time off

Cons

I wish I had read reviews before accepting a role at this company. It seemed like everything told by the internal recruiter was a scam. The work environment was unprofessional, especially at the leadership level. Don't bother reading the handbook, as they are constantly changing it, then making you believe policies were always implemented. One of the most concerning issues was the evident lack of respect toward women in the workplace. Disrespectful behavior and dismissive attitudes were far too common, and when raised, these concerns were either ignored or brushed off. It created a toxic environment that made it difficult to feel safe, supported, or valued. The office space has unbearable work conditions - there were animals brought in, disregarding the pet allergies of employees. Please protect your mental health and sanity.

Pros

Offices are pretty clean and tidy

Cons

Managers run hot and cold. There always having arguments in the meeting rooms making everyone uncomfortable. Seems like lots of people leave after they join so you don't really know who will go next and then when that happens nothing is said about it and you just kind of find out from someone after that which I thought was unusual cos in other companies theyd say something in an email at least. The days feel really long and in the US team they say that they give a 4 day week but then they make the shifts like 11 hours per day so you can only leave when it's really late and dark and then they email you on your days off or send text messages which is really stressful
