Pros
I've been working at Amaze for 3.5 years and it has been one of my favorite places of employment. There's something about a CEO who appreciates creativity and out of the box thinking that I did not receive elsewhere. There have been numerous places that have told me the same thing when I have asked for change "well this is the way we have always done things". But why? Why is it the way you have always done things and why does that mean we have to keep doing it, even if it doesn't work? Never in a million years did I think I would work at a telemedicine company that accepted a questioner and a person to explore creative solutions. One of our guiding principles is "do the right thing" and in the healthcare system, it's refreshing to hear that you can do the right thing and not worry about financially burdening the patient. We have helped numerous patients with different backgrounds, we have had VPs of companies and the drive-through employee of aTaco Bell and they all get treated red carpet style. The freedom to be a provider and doing the right thing unlocks the "why" behind the reason we went into medicine in the first place, it also minimizes burnout. I stand behind the mission to change healthcare and to challenge the status quo, I highly encourage providers who are tired of working inside the "system" to apply here so you are appreciated for your outside of the box thinking. We have innovative ways we are doing medicine because we are not bounded to insurance requirements, it allows us to freely provide care. It also addresses so many barriers to clients, especially mental health. You really feel like you are making a difference here. As for diversity, this company appreciates employees from various backgrounds, me included. As a minority woman in leadership, I can attest that Amaze Health appreciates people from all different kind of backgrounds as they add so much value to our team as a whole. Diversity is much needed in a growing company such as ours because it adds creativity, provides teaching moments and grows us in the direction we want to be.
Cons
It may appear disorganized when you first come in and you may have to shed the clinic mentality. Especially if you are from a very rigid environment. We believe new employees bring a lot to the table and can help us create a better platform. For those who survive on structure, it may take awhile to adjust to our different shades of grey.
