Pros
Good discounts, faith based, volunteer opportunities, nice clothes and accessories- but that's about all the good there is to it.
Cons
I could go on for days about the cons about this job. When I first started, the company was new and excited so it had great morale. As I stayed with the company longer, however, things just got worse. As a regular sales associate, I was expected a pay of minimum wage, but I'm pretty sure the company payed even less than that. I would work 30+ hours a week and my pay checks were absolutely no where close to where they were supposed to be even before tax deductions. There were times when we were forced to clock out early and continue working because we had reached our maximum limit on the pay roll and the company couldn't afford to pay us. I stayed for hours on end on Sundays to do floor sets and windows, which we were supposed to have off as a day of rest. I wouldn't get home until the early hours of the morning, just to come in a couple of days later and have everything changed from what I had worked on. The CEO is easily aggravated, and not once did I see the morals of what this company was supposed to project in him. He is constantly angry and unsatisfied with his underpaid employees' hard work, and I began to live in fear of "corporate visits" because of what was known to happen when they arrive. Promises were constantly made to employees of a better future with the company, but they only got worse I felt as if I were working on commission and forcing products to unwilling customers because that's what I was told to do. Customers would constantly come in and return clothes because they felt "pressured" to purchase something. Even after employees exercise their right to leave, they are seen as awful people for quitting. Lies are spread about them to make them seem like the bad person for being unsatisfied with how this company projects itself. Upon being hired, one employee worked for a few weeks and was never paid once. After she quit and told them she wasn't working for free, a manager gave her her wages in cash under the table. This company is not what it claims to be. At all. I have never been as unhappy in my life as I was the last few months of working there.
