Is this your company?

Cool place to work at but the pay and way the owner Jim treats his employees is not worth it. - Network Engineer Adtech IT Solutions Employee Review

Pros

It is a fun place to work if the owner is in a good mood. All my coworkers were super cool and you get to meet a bunch of cool clients. Its a good place to use as a stepping stone if you have never had a job or need more experience in the IT field. Also they are pretty cool on letting you take time off. As long as you get your jobs done without making a customer mad you wont get fired.

Cons

If the owner is in a bad mood he will yell and act totally unprofessional making you so mad to the point you would want to hit him. Also he doesnt pay any of his employees what they are worth. $10 an hour + "commission" (that is another $10-15 depending on the job) lol what a joke! Sometimes he wont pay you for certain jobs without telling you!? And you have to wait for your commission till the customer pays their bill. So if the customer doesnt pay it or walks away from the contract you dont get paid! It was totally unorganized, you would get sent to some jobs blind or without the right equipment. Sometimes I would show up to jobs and the clients would not even know why I was there! Also the owner is VERY CHEAP!! No vacation time, no holiday pay, no sick days, and no raises... The owner has his own airplane, drives a lexus, and owns multiple properties but will still try to not pay you or bill a customer for what ever he can! Ive seen more than 9 techs come and go in less than a year because of this.

We offer employment to many individuals with varying skill levels. Contrary to your position, we do not pay employees what THEY think they are worth, but the value of their contribution to the company. Some technicians are a base pay plus “additional pay or commissions” of up to $35/hr. based on the type of work performed and are paid AFTER a customer has accepted the work and paid their bill. This is made very clear BEFORE employment is offered, and accepted by the employee in order to be employed. The rules are very clear; techs are paid the commission when the company gets paid for their work, PERIOD. If an employee tries to “pad” their time or has overcharged the customer, the company has no choice but to credit the customer’s account resulting in both the company AND the employee NOT receiving commission for the credited time. Techs that excel and work hard are quickly advanced in duties and pay. We are very tolerant and understanding of techs that lack skills and abilities in entry level positions, we realize everybody has to start somewhere. Just to clarify some of your erroneous posts: 1. You were NOT an Engineer, but an entry level technician and at the time you wrote this review,: 2. We have lost ONLY one “Field Tech” in the past year, and that was because his security clearance was approved after 2 years for a government job. 3. You were given a 20% pay increase during your one year employment with Adtech. 4. We DO have a competitive benefits package including, paid sick days, paid holidays, 401 matching, health and vision care. 5. We have extensive equipment to be used in a lab environment for techs to learn and practice their skills. My recommendation to you is that with your next employers, you find ways to make yourself more valuable.

Pros

I was offered a position after searching for years. I actually had given up looking for an IT job, one day I was just browsing around since I was still unemployed at the time, and received a surprise call from Adtech stating they wanted me to come in for a test. Same day I got a call for an interview and the rest is history. I was given an opportunity that no one else wanted to take the chance on, and I'm happy they did, and I'm glad to say I plan to be here as long as I can, and finally, I am happy to say I've never been more enthusiastic about going to work every morning,

Cons

I don't have anything bad to say, just show up, do your work and you'll be fine. Everyone is pleasant and helpful.

Pros

Very little micromanaging if you did what was expected of you. Many opportunities to gain hands on experience with new technology. This was huge for me. I have a lot of thanks to give Adtech for this. I have a lot of experience in using certain applications and hardware because of Adtech. Adtech will try to find what your strengths are and build your position around those strengths. Easily able to climb your way up after you show them what you are able to do.

Cons

*keep in mind it is a lot easier to think of negatives than positives* Biggest complaint was having commission pay for on-site techs. There is no reason why an on-site tech connecting a printer for John Doe should be making almost double than some of the in-house guys whose job was keeping the big clients afloat. On that same point pay was sort of meh.... It was starting to get better but a little too late for me. No real management. Nobody telling you when you were doing a good job. Only someone to scold you when you messed up. (Nothing too severe Adtech was very understanding when something went south). Those who thought they were management were usually some of the lesser techs but you found yourself having to follow their way of doing things because of how long they have been with the company. A LOT OF DEAD WEIGHT. I'm sure this holds true with every company. People who are not willing to adapt to new technology in IT should be shown the door. No true position titles. Everyone was labeled either an internet tech or network engineer.
