Pros

Adeline carries unique and stylish clothes at affordable prices. The clothes are extremely well made. Every time I wear clothes from Adeline, I get a ton of compliments. Fun and lively environment. The store is always clean and smells lovely. Owner burns candles she sells in the store. Always get paid the correct amount on time. Owner always puts the customer first. She values her customers and stresses the importance of the customer to her employees. Owner holds fun events for all customers to attend. For example, the last event was Valentine's Day themed and customers could fill a bag up of candy while enjoying a glass of wine or champagne. Customers were able to shop at the store after hours and received a 15% discount Owner is friendly and helpful. She is also very flexible, realistic, and understanding when it comes to her employees. Fashion is her passion. She understands what it takes to be a business owner.

Cons

Since most of the employees are high school students, they can be immature and don't quite understand the value of a business. Since I am an older employee, I have a better grasp on how the business world works and appreciate what Adeline has to offer their employees.

Pros

Trusted to work by yourself most the time. Good smell, owner would burn candles she would sell to customers. Cheap clothes. If the owner likes your or you're taller than them you can negotiate a good discount. Owner is desperate to sell the merchandise and will take a lower price if it's been on the rack for over a year (most have been). Few good things to say, I took the job as an easy money maker as I was applying for corporate jobs and it was difficult to work with.

Cons

Reported the store to the TEC Owner doesn't keep their word and will change their mind for what is most convenient to their personal feelings (yes, their feelings, not business). Owner demanded the store have a certain look and would rather sacrifice the shoppers experience to maintain hangers being appropriately spaced than letting the shopped search through the merchandise then adjust hangers after they have moved on. Owner was quick to accuse and never had a system in place of warnings/rules and very moody. Owner made employees wear clothing merchandise then would sell if to customers without washing it. Management lost my W4 form and another employee's W4. Worried about my social security number and personal information being shared now because they lost my W4 and I had to fill out a new one. Did not have direct deposit and would only pay by check. Threatened to sue another employee (who was an innocent 17 year old who thought they found an old pay-check and went to deposit the found check but had forgotten that the check had already deposited via phone app.) Owner has no where in contract that you need your phone to be at work but on some days when the register isn't working (about once a week) they will send you home if you do not have your phone to use as the register...or they will complain about having to leave their phone at the store to use as the register if the employee was not willing to use the Square App on their phone. Owner would schedule you for morning shift and show up 15-30 minutes late sometimes or have their father come open up the store. Rarely hired anyone above the age of 18 and would schedule them by themselves and then would send scathing texts about how there was over $2000 worth of missing merchandise. I always felt bad for the young employees who would fall victim to theft accusations when it was probably the fact that clientele walked into the store knowing that it is difficult for one person to watch closely and no one can accuse you of stealing unless it is the company owner/manager. Seemed more like something fun for the owner to do rather than an actual business they cared about.
