Acendas Travel was an absolutely fabulous place to work. As a Program Manager (account manager), I worked with new customers based in Kansas City. I would work with our internal team to onboard and train them on whichever travel platform they opted to purchase. Onboarding can last several weeks, depending on how quickly the client (travel manager & team) are able to gather info and coordinate with you. The onboarding period is a great way to start building a relationship with the travel manager. The other major component of the job is performing business reviews. One of my favorite things about this job was the reporting tools - you are able to put together a stellar business review with completely tailored data for the customer to have valuable insights into their travel spend/program. There is a lot of external and internal project management required working with cross-functional teams, so organization and attention to detail are really important. Public speaking, adaptability, being technically adept, transparent, and willing to jump in and help where Acendas or the customer need it are crucial. The culture is truly special - leadership is genuine, and really cares about employees and the company performance. The PM team had high expectations and helped each other with knowledge gaps, also had a lot of fun at networking events and working together in general. I really enjoyed the customers I worked with, as well as my colleagues. Although the job was in the office, there was flexibility to work from home at times, and for personal appts or pto. If you're a dedicated relationship builder looking for a genuine culture, I highly recommend Acendas!
Cons
Hotel rate loading was challenging, but that is part of the travel industry in general and not a bad reflection what-so-ever on Acendas. I'm confident as adaptable as the Acendas team is, this process will continue to improve.
