Leadership is poor and not transparent. In a start-up, it makes sense that there are a lot of changes to adapt to. But without explanation, clear reasoning, or a time for us to voice feedback, it leaves us at the bottom of the food chain in the dark. Even managers below directors wouldn't be in the loop with everything, posing even more questions about the organization + communication styles of 6AM.
There's too many empty promises made. We're told that we're secure and that there's plans being put into place to boost 6AM without anymore layoffs. Well, here's someone who was told that, and then laid off in a group Zoom. Sure, cutting back is normal. But opening new markets in the midst of closing others, is a slap in the face. Also, don't expect quick upward mobility. Despite showing tremendous growth after two years, I wasn't in talks with my manager about a raise until a week before I was laid off. "Too expensive" was a phrase heard by a lot of us frequently about our market.
Bad business decisions lead to frantic decisions where leadership has to constantly support employees after drastic changes that really affect team dynamics. Morale is low, and how are you supposed to feel secure in a job like that?
