Pros

- Decent compensation - Work life balance is ok and depends on your team. US, credit, and mobile teams have the most intense workload (from my point of view) - Good budget for learning and development - Codebase is ok, could be better but devex and platform have been working to improve the experience

Cons

- Random decisions from the leadership team - Feedback is sought but it doesn't seem to have any impact on decisions - Attrition is heavy, average tenure is 1 year at most and people leave because it becomes apparent that the product has no direction and we will keep building features without any customer feedback - Have seen small layoffs and rescinding offers based on board meeting outcomes in my time here. A year back since investors wanted lower cost an offer was rescinded after confirmation, recently a small group of people were laid off as part of reorganisation. So please be aware and ready to start interviewing if you are joining here. - As mentioned in other reviews, CEO seems to have a toxic mindset. He has just lifted some principles and jargon from FAANG companies as well as some books and then parrots the same lines in all hands meetings. He does not realise (or does not care) that the same principles don't always apply as Curve is one millionth the scale and size of those companies. - The CEO once mentioned that he is successful and so knows at what amount of work employees will burnout and he will never let that happen. The arrogance of this statement should tell you about the psyche of the person. - The tone of the answers in all-hands meetings is condescending and dismissive.

Pros

Salaries are good A lot of smart people - although so many are leaving

Cons

A very toxic culture, the CEO will happily make threats to fire people on public Slack channels for asking normal questions, and senior management will backup the tone of the CEO, only for a total reversal a short time after, for damage control. The layoffs were handled very poorly, many managers did not even know their staff were being fired until they saw deactivated Slack accounts. There is a concerning disconnect from senior management about things deeply wrong with working practices, and treatment of staff, for some reason they do not seem to grasp why there is a huge exodus of people, on a scale that I have never seen or heard of in my 14 year career. Very poor direction, no autonomy, projects are not thought out at all, if you want to do thorough planning and discovery then expect to be told no or sidelined. New joiners are quitting in probation, after they realise the other reviews on here are all true. Genuine fear for the long term future, not sure the lights will stay on with certain projects unless investors decide to put more cash in.
