      Competitive pay and benefits, but top-down management approach

      Pros

      The benefits and pay were very competitive, if not outright better than most other employers I had worked for.

      Cons

      Our property was part of a REIT, so everything had an 'investor first' perspective to it. I think that view led to a lot of top-down, authoritative approaches to budgeting and management so it was hard not to feel like you're just a number on a spreadsheet that needs to do more to improve the investor dividend.
