Dublin recruitment team and process a nightmare
24 Aug 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great company but need to get on top of their recruiters. They are making emotional decisions on a daily basis. I overheard one say, this guy gave me bad feedback in a survey, good luck to him ever getting past me now. This is crazy Square (block).
Cons
Recruiters, I have referred many friends and they have all stopped after one or 2 conversations with the recruitment team. I have been advised the recruitment team took a month to respond to a friend after having 2 conversations with just the recruiters. In this economy can businesses really afford to have recruiters blocking their talent acquisition? Get rid of all the Dublin recruitment process ASAP and have your hiring managers on the front line!

Fantastic culture and supportive management

Block and square has exceed my expectations. Everyday is different and constantly learning. The culture is amazing where everyone can be themselves and thrive. The company is very open to different ideas and perspectives. There is great flexibility about working from home and in the office. Unlimited annual leave helps me balance work life and home life. Management are very supportive in achieving goals.
Cons
None that I can think of

Great company to work with
22 Jan 2022 - Customer Success Advocate in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work from home is a permanent option currently which is great as not all companies doing this. The team are all great and there isn’t any toxicity to communication or power dynamics which makes work so much easier! The salary and benefits are great and there is plenty of opportunities to progress in a variety of ways. Really happy here !
Cons
Some tools/processes have some quite obvious weaknesses and illogical or unnecessary time-consuming aspects which can definitely be improved. It’s can be a jump going from training to live but it really could be argued that the immersion gets you up to scratch very quickly.

Amazing company with great people
23 Mar 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Dublin, DublinRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Great culture with lovely people - Amazing benefits (e.g. unlimited holidays, 4 months fully paid paternity leave) - - very innovative - Flexibility to work fully remote, or go to an office - Company is growing fast, so lots of opportunities for progression
Cons
- Very high standards, the work is challenging, its not a place to coast along - Despite a lot of efforts being made, work life balance can still be challenging - Timezones can be challenging given teams are geographically dispersed all over the world
