McGuireWoods is a large law firm with about 900 lawyers practicing in more than 15 offices in the US and two European offices. McGuireWoods, which has grown through a series of mergers and acquisitions, maintains a broad range of practices and specializes in such areas as corporate finance, health care, labor and employment, and litigation. In addition, the firm provides lobbying and public relations, business advisory, and human resources consulting services through McGuireWoods-branded subsidiaries. The firm traces its roots to a Virginia practice started in 1834 by Egbert Watson.
