The company, established in 1929, manufactures a variety of electronic components such as connectors, power supplies, switches, jacks and plugs, and terminals. The company also makes such computer and appliance input devices as keyboards, control panels, touch screens, and remote controls. Audio-visual and communication products account for almost 75% of SMK's revenue. Its customers include other manufacturers of electronics and industrial goods. While the majority of SMK's revenues come from Japan and Asia (almost 80%), the company operates nearly two dozen manufacturing sites and sales offices in about 20 countries worldwide.
