Automotive Infotainment Technician — Electronics Rework & Firmware
About the role
Bench role repairing and converting car infotainment / head units — half soldering, half firmware. You don't need to know everything: we have a structured workflow and you'll develop fast on the job. But you must already be able to solder and flash confidently — the two go together (you solder in order to flash).
What you'll do
Hand and fine-pitch / micro-soldering of SMD components on head units and PCBs
BGA rework — chip removal, reballing and reflow under a microscope
EEPROM / flash read–write and component-level board repair
Downloading, flashing and updating infotainment firmware and datasets
Regional / market conversions: changing system language to English on imports, FM band conversion, converting units to European firmware on VAG, Toyota, Honda and other makes
Finding solutions for new, non-standard conversion tasks
What you need
Solid working ability in soldering — SMD / micro-soldering and basic BGA rework (reballing/reflow). Not expert level, but already competent
Real hands-on experience flashing / updating automotive infotainment firmware
Comfortable working across all major makes, 2016 onwards (VAG, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, etc.)
Methodical, accurate, and keen to learn our process
