After applying on-line, I received an automated response from HR requesting a brief phone interview the same day I applied. Red flag #1. The interview was scheduled through e-mail and it only took a couple minutes, for the recruiter was very impressed with my credentials and arranged a phone interview with the Regional Manager in Phoenix a few days later. The first thing this manager told me in our interview was an apology for his tardiness of 15 minutes and he had emailed me to alert me to the new start time for our interview. I had just been on my e-mail and he never sent me one. Red Flag #2. The interview went well, but he seemed focus on my negative aspects, asking what I thought my weaknesses were and what my former boss would say were my biggest weaknesses. I have years of experience managing accounts long term and speaking to customers on the phone, but he told me the Mobile Mini accounts would be temporary, maybe calling on them for just a few months. He concluded the interview stating I would hear from him next week about whether I would get to meet with the local manager, whether I passed this interview or not. Eight days went by with no communication, so I e-mailed the recruiter. No response. Red flag #3. Another week went by with no response, so I sent another e-mail to the recruiter. No response from her, but that evening I received the automated e-mail stating I would not be considered.
My advice is bypass this company if you see a job opening. The recent employee reviews are negative and they seem to be cutting pay. Their lack of communication during the recruitment process told me they are not very professional and not to toot my own horn, but not at least getting to meet with the local MM branch was insulting considering my experience and meeting all job qualifications. I have since read other negative Glassdoor reviews about the interview process and they are all correct. Bottom line, search elsewhere for a job because MM doesn't seem to have it together.
