      Consumers Sales Service Consultant Interview

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Verizon

      Interview

Submitted resume in response to newspaper ad. Was contacted via phone and interviewed on the spot. Major theme of interview was sales and verbal communications skills. At the end of that interview, I was invited to test in person. Tests included keyboarding skills and then an over the phone role play testing my ability to interact with a customer and locate account and service information on a completely unfamiliar form. Passing those I was in a group given a presentation about the company and the expectations of the job. We were then given an envelope with our names on it advised that we were all selected and anyone who didn't accept the job at the starting wage offered as contained in the envelopes could leave. I took the job at $12.49 hr to start.

      Question 1

Role play counterpart acted indignent and kept asking the same question over and over again in an attempt to push my button and get an inappropriate reaction.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Roanoke, VA) in Mar 2014

      Interview

There was an online application followed by a phone screening, which was then followed by an aptitude/math skills psychological series of tests at the offices of a 3rd partying testing company. The final step was a face to face interview with site manager and another member of managementl. Unfortunately prior to the face to face interview I was kept waiting over an hour in an empty room, void of any decoration, posters, etc. with only a laminated disclosure on the table in front of me to read. I was told to arrive 30 minutes early and they were running behind over 40 minutes. I believe the time in my "solitary confinement" of 1 hours and 10 minutes caused my nerves to get the better of me.

      Question 1

We are now going to "role play". I am a customer calling in to cancel my service, I do not have any additional services. Here is a list of products we sell. Ring-ring......
