I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at VA Loan Captain in Oct 2016
Interview
Screened by an assistant, my first verbal contact was with the CEO, Grant Moon (first red flag). After the call, I felt sick to my stomach.
First, the position posted had been filled. It was clear that he wanted to solicit information about my previous employer after he revealed that the loan platform was not a money maker and that he had created a second "real estate brokerage" that was really just a referral platform.
Second, he touted that he could secure any meeting with private executives or public officials because of his loan platform. I was shocked to see a veteran abuse their platform for this type of financial gain. The lending side doesn't offer loans above $200k, regardless of down payment. It appears to be just a platform for a user to click "talk to a representative" in order to transfer their business to the "brokerage" which just hands it over to an agent that splits the commission at 30%.
Third, his disregard for professionalism couldn't be more apparent. He asked inappropriate questions during the interview process, told me he didn't believe me when discussing the con's of my previous employer, and didn't even ask me about my work history. He claims he has 7,000 real estate agents but that's just part of the network of people willing to take his leads. There is no real "brokerage" that agents can hang their license. This entire operation felt like a scheme that left me with a terrible taste in my mouth.
Steer clear of this organization and CEO.
