      AYWL Fellowship Interview

      25 Nov 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at UNDP in Oct 2021

      Interview

They sent out an online assessment. It stated that it was accessible for persons with disabilities using screen readers and zooming technology, amazing right. I get to the assessment...not accessible at all. I email them saying it wasn't accessible...no reply. 2nd email...no reply. 3rd email..."thank you for your feedback and the next day a rejection. I ofcourse then send a strong worded email back saying it wasn't accessible and I feel I am an excellent candidate. You know what they email back...that my request for reasonable accommodation was after I had done the assessment. What??????

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most of the questions were set in a situation where I am faced either with more responsibility or in a difficult situation. They give u 2 answers on a sliding scale. The one end is always something crazy like I push myself no matter the cost or effect and the other something balanced like I evaluate the situation and look at what is feasible. I struggled my butt off as a visually impaired person, but yeah. I can't tell you if they want you to say that you'll give your entire life and soul to them or want to be a balanced person because I didn't get it and I struggled to answer anyways.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at UNDP in Dec 2021

      Interview

The process involved a two stage selection process. The first was an online assessment where varying work scenarios were presented for candidates to select their preferences. There are really no right or wrong answers except preferences should match UNDP competencies to reflect ability to work within that environment. The second process was a virtual competency based interview of three questions

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Motivation to apply for the programme and how you would prepare for work in an office outside your home country 2. An example of a time you did not know what was expected of you but took action regardless. 3. An example of a time when you joined a new team and had to build a relationship with other team members.
