I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Hoboken, NJ) in Aug 2018
Interview
Handed in my application in person and a mate interviewed me on the spot for maybe about 10 minutes, but looked uninterested. Asked questions about my previous experience, availability, and customer service. He told me someone would get back to me within a week or two to let me know the status on my application. One month later, I received a rude phone call from someone advising me that I was no longer under consideration. I didn`t get the chance to at least thank them for their time or ask for feedback.

Question 1
Do you shop here often? Do you have any favorite products?
It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
