I applied for a position online, and received a phone call from the hiring manager within a few days. We talked for approximately 30-minutes and it appeared that the impromptu phone screening went well. I was asked to submit a list of references and was told that the hiring manager would contact me during the following week to possibly schedule an in-person interview. There was no follow up phone call, and no response to my subsequent emails. I guess this was their way of saying "thanks, but no thanks". A simple message stating that we would not be talking further, instead of ignoring my emails would have been appreciated.
