Sales Development Representative - SDR Interview

      16 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TicketManager (New York, NY)

      Interview

Started with a phone screen, followed by an on-site interview with the recruiter, a phone call with the VP talent, an on-site with the CEO, and a final call with the head of sales. Overall, the process was relatively smooth. Everyone was pretty cool. As far as questions go, they basically just drilled me about my background, and asked a lot of 'Why's' - which made it pretty fun to interview with them. All that said, things went really well and the CEO gave me pretty clear signals that I was going to be getting an offer. The interview with him basically ended with him telling me to start worrying about my concerns with the role, etc. and to not be concerned with whether they wanted me, etc. That doesn't give the best picture of how it went but, basically he said that I was a good fit. So it seemed like I was probably going to get an offer. Phone call with the head of sales was fine, but not much of an interview. The guy was basically like, 'yeah Tony and Kevin wanted me to meet you, so what's up?' A few days later the first recruiter reached out and said they weren't moving forward, and said we could talk about it or whatever. I told him I'd like to speak because I was pretty taken off guard by the rejection and wanted to know where I fell short. He told me to give him a call. I did, he didn't pick up. I called again and left a voicemail asking to give me a call back. No response. All in all, it went well but the ending was a little shady and definitely just kind of lame. Great learning experience though. Hope this helps
