Facts: I applied to work at Teksystems in Southfield, MI, about a month ago. I was a referral from an employee of a sister company. The interview process took roughly 3 weeks ( With no answer at the end!!). In my case, it was a four-stage process: (1) phone interview with a recruiter out of Colorado + a 20-minute online personality test. (2) First in-person interview: I interviewed with two Directors of Business Development. (3 ) Half day/shadow stage: I was invited to come check out the work environment and chat with leaders and workers - took roughly four hours. (4) Final interview with the Delivery Manager: I was invited to grab lunch with the Delivery Manager to chat about, basically, the same things - she, as explained to me, was the person to recommend hiring me or not.
Opinion and general review: I believe that the leadership of this company in Southfield, MI, are genuine people and do care for quality and making sure they hire the right person for the job. As explained to me, they lean towards hiring younger candidates fresh out of college and the interview process in their case can take less time than in my case. Overall, I think they are a good company to work for. The in-person interviews were thorough, and detail oriented. They asked a lot of set up questions, personal and professional too. HOWEVER, there were a few things I noticed that I believed to indicate a LOW LEVEL of organization at the company. For example, They are not prompt in their responses at all. I'd send an email or a text and I'd either get a delayed response or more often no response at all ( I definitely have the proof for my claim.) I think (opinion) that the company had been going through some MAJOR STRUCTURAL change/revamp/upgrade because it was obvious to me at some points in the interview process they didn't know what they were doing and who was supposed to call or reach out (again, I have the proof to this claim too.). The most SHOCKING FACT is I never heard back from them after the 4th stage(final interview) whether positive or negative - Literally NO RESPONSE at all which strengthened my belief that they didn't know what they were doing. Overall, I still think they are good company to work for if you are fresh out of college and want to start a career. I, nonetheless, think this is NOT the right career path for someone who's established, cares for high level of communication and looks for a fast-pace work environment.
