Splashlight interview questions

Was brought in to an otherwise polite reception and intro. Was made to wait for a long time. Once the interview began, the question of my desired salary was asked, but the interviewer left the room abruptly before I could answer. Upon their return, the interview did not pick up where it left off, and they only offered a trial-basis position below the one I was interviewing for, with no basis or justification given.

I was contacted through a recruiter. The company sent a link for an online test (PHP, JS, SQL, HTML, CSS) to various applicants. I passed the test with better score than other applicants. I got interviewed by the director of technology and by the founder.
