I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spark Hire (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2022
Interview
I completed a phone screen, a one-way video interview, and then a round of hiring manager video interviews. The one-way video interview asked some foundational questions, but then the live video interviews talked more about experience bringing a product to market.

Interview
I recently interviewed for the position of product manager at Commet, a company that was acquired by the organization that contacted me. The whole process was quite unusual. Initially, I received an email confirming receipt of my CV and indicating that they would contact me if I was a suitable candidate. About a week later, I realized that they had actually sent me several virtual interview invitations, which I thought were spam and consequently missed out. If the initial email had explained the unusual process of sending interview invitations without prior explanation, it is likely that the experience would have been more positive. The interview itself consisted of answering questions via video recording, which was already a bit awkward. However, technical problems and program failures made the process even longer and tiring.

Question 1
How would you describe your experience of the interview process to a friend?

Interview
It started as a one-way video interview used to screen candidates. Spark gives you as many tries as needed to answer questions for the video interview. This is huge considering how intimidating the time limit on video interviews can be. As I went through each stage of the process it was apparent that others had seen my screen interview and already knew something about me. Another plus. Spark Hire also does a great job of giving you a detailed view of each step of the interview process. Additionally, I was delighted that they allow you to communicate and send thank you letters to the individuals who conducted the interview. I didn't get the job but the experience was intuitive and refreshing.
