I accepted the offer from Humanics (Siemens Healthineers Mountain View) and started onboarding process for half a month. The offer got revoked all of a sudden, after the hiring manager knew the working visa process might take longer than he expected, without any detailed explanation.
I am writing to complain about the low-efficient, disrespectful and unsupportive HR system and dishonest company culture.
1. I received only one email reply from "my HR" to my 10+ emails/voicemails regarding of important visa status & onboarding process update, after accepting the offer for half a month. The FIRST and LAST call I received from "my HR", was to directly revoke my offer.
2. There was no collaboration from Siemens Healthineers HR or Immigration Department on finding visa solutions & on-boarding.
I am fully aware that current working visa process takes longer than usual, due to Trump's policy. In order to find out the exact timeline and onboard as early as I can, I left 10+ voicemails and emailed "my HR" and Siemens immigration department to explore solutions. I received no reply. The HR blame this communication delay to Hurricane Irma:). Finally, my offer was revoked after lawyer gathering data from me.
3. My offer was withdrawn in the extremely rude way. HR disqualified me with the hilarious excuse and failed to provide any reasonable explanation. HR hang up my phone after informing me "You offer was gone" and yelling repeatedly "I have to go" to avoid providing the real reason.
I understand California employment is at will. I was shocked by how a company like Siemens broke their promise so easily and left their potential candidate hanging nowhere. The HR ignored all the emails/calls from the candidate and functioned as a barrier during on-board. I take this experience as a Discrimination of immigrating Workers. They turn you down so that they do not need to deal with the visa.
To Siemens Humanic team:
Unless you build an all-American team, you can not avoid dealing with visa. When breaking your promise, have you thought of how many other opportunities I had to let go after signing the offer? Do you care that I might have to go back to my home country and replan my life, when suddenly loosing this job offer?
