Java; this has been an ongoing debate between me and my sister (she learned Python first, whereas I learned Java first). I feel as though the amount of work that needs to be done in Java is necessary because it requires a deeper understanding of code. With Python, things can be hidden and things just 'work' and you don't need to understand why. NOTE: I should have remembered that I was interviewing for an AI/ML coding coach position and AI/ML is commonly written in Python.
