I applied in-person. I interviewed at Raley's / Bel Air / Nob Hill (Carmichael, CA) in Jun 2013
Interview
They were very casual about the interview. They did not contact me when I put in my application, I had to come in the store and ask in person. During the interview they asked me about my schedule, what I liked and didn't like about the store, and they also asked me to sell them a random item. I was very awkward on my sales pitch but they hired me anyway. Make sure to smile a whole bunch, they really like that.

Interview
The interview seemed to have went well.At least that was the impression I got I was dressed professionally,I have the experience .I made myself available on weekends and holidays.on days or nights.Even said I would work on call as I live right down the street. It was 2 managers.1 looked about 18 if he was a day...any way lasted about 30 minutes...They called 2 days later to tell me I didn't get the job. Why?

Interview
It was a straightforward interview. Seemed like more of a formality. The hiring manager was nice and easy to converse with. Overall, a good experience. I wish more interviews were like this.
Interview was conversation based, interviewer was friendly, and they are basically looking for someone who aligns with company values. If you are focused on customer service and are extroverted, the interview process should feel natural
