      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at QualityLogic (Boise, ID) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I was emailed by Julianne. She was very professional and offered me an interview. The process was very quick. I interviewed with Daniel the QA Manager. I thought he was professional and kind. He seemed like the kind of guy that doesn't want to waste people's time, which I appreciated. After some general questions about my problem solving skills, weakness, strengths, he asked me what coding language I was comfortable with. He then presented me with a binder that had some code in it and asked me what would be expected to be returned. I completely bombed this part of the interview. Daniel was kind enough to walk me through the process though of solving the problem, and I could tell he really did care about me. He did say he couldn't offer me a position because of my level of understanding, which was totally justified. As I was leaving he wished me good luck, and overall it was a good experience even though I didn't get the job.

      Question 1

The interviewer presented me with a binder that had some code in it and asked me what would be expected to be returned out of the functions. It contained indexes and loops.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this review. What you experienced was typical of QualityLogic culture. We do have to uphold a certain standard, however no one is interested in beating anyone down. Perhaps you will be able to use the advice given, build your skills further, and reapply in the future.

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at QualityLogic (Boise, ID) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Interview was very straightforward. Both interviews were fair and easy. Interviewers were nice and were honest about the job. Simple questions regarding page automation, experience with various technologies. HOWEVER: There is a massive disconnect between HR and Engineering when it comes to interviews here. HR asks for a salary expectation, and it is completely ignored. The role they offered me was effectively an SDET (100% automation) for ~28-30/hr which they couldn't budge on. Why ask for a salary and then schedule interviews AFTER if you know ahead of time you have 0% chance of coming close to it.

Thank you for your feedback on our interview process. We appreciate that you valued our honesty and process – it’s core to who we are as a company. Salary negotiations are always tough, but after thorough research of the market rates for our positions, we have found the pay is very competitive for the skills and roles for which we’re hiring. Additionally, we provide some of the best benefits in the market: we pay the majority of the employee’s insurance costs, offer paid vacation, sick time, and holidays, plus we’re one of the few companies that offer bonuses for all levels of the company when financially possible.
