I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Patreon (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2016
Interview
Sent my resume online, got an email a few days later to setup a phone call with the CTO. We had a few miss but we finally got to talk. I was brought onsite for a quite 3 person interview cycle. After a tour of the startup's office, I met with their 2 existing managers and the CTO. Loved the energy and the office ambiance (someone was playing the grand piano during my last interview, which overlapped lunch time).
I had a 30 min recruiter screen, and 60 min HM interview which was all behavioural questions. I did not make it past HM interview. Got a default rejection email with no feedback.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Patreon (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2025
Interview
I made it past the hiring manager screen to the full loop and was excited about the opportunity. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. I was scheduled for three follow-up interviews, all but one were cancelled, some at the last minute. I rescheduled two of them and they were cancelled AGAIN. I rearranged my schedule and took time off work multiple times to accommodate. After all that, I received a generic rejection with no further conversation or acknowledgment of the time I had invested.

Question 1
Describe an impactful project you worked on and how did you drive it to success?
Initial call with recruiter that went well, then hiring manager call was set to be a 45 mins call. The day of the call, they emailed saying hiring manager got pulled into meetings and needs to shorten the call. They joined late and ended in 20 mins without asking any managerial or technical questions. Super high level question about my current experience and any project. It seemed that they had already decided not to move forward and did the 20 mins out of formality. Unprofessional approach. Got a vague email from recruiter afterwards saying they won't move forward and they couldn't share any reasons.
