I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PCC Structurals in Jan 2020
Interview
Got a call un-announced at 7pm. The phone line was badly muffled. Therefore I could barely hear what the interviewer was saying. When the interviewer asked me "what do you know about PCC", I couldn't hear what the name of the company was. So I asked to repeat. Still couldn't hear. So I proceeded to ask them: "could you remind me to lead me in the right direction to answer this question". As soon as they said PCC and I finally heard this, I stopped them from giving it away. So I thought I redeemed myself but it turns out I didn't?
The issue was that the phone line was horribly unclear! If you're going to call un-announced at night for an interview, at least make sure the phone line is clear! It's not my fault that I couldn't hear what company it was from. Actually, it's a shame because I was well qualified for the intern position due to previous experience and I actually have a passion for PCC.
If students spend all this time applying to a job they are genuinely interested in, why can't we get some professionalism like a clear phonecall? What a shame.
