1h phone interview followed by two meetings at their office.
I was offered the position which I found to be a good match and was excited to start. However as the pay was significantly lower than my current pay I answered during the meeting that I was very interested but wanted to discuss the offer with my wife over the weekend. We discussed further practicalities and had a - in my view - a good meeting.
The next day I got a text message that they were unsure about me since I didn't accept the offer straight away and wanted to meet with me again to set expectations right. It was not possible to communicate via calls but I let them know that since our meeting I had also gotten another job offer, but was leaning towards them (since I wanted to be transparent, just as they said they wanted to be). I suggested we meet in the next days. After this they changed mind and let me know that they decided to interview another candidate on the Monday and would let me know afterwards!
On the Monday evening they called me and said that they've decided to cancel the recruitment all together.
Overall I found the company interesting to work for and would have liked to take this position. However I found the behaviour with making and retracting their employment offer strange and it seemed (though I don't know) that they were offended I had been talking to other employers.
