      Account Executive Interview

      8 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irving, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Novatech (Irving, TX) in Aug 2019

      Interview

HR screen, then attend mass hiring event on-site Irving, TX location. This company is definitely old school requiring an IQ test along with sales and behavioral personality test. Would not say how many openings there were. You read between the lines, it is a high turnover location. Texas trying to do better than Tennessee and under performing. Ride alongs with manager for several months indicate they only want low paying junior level salespeople but they will not tell you that. They end up getting what they pay for. Management does not thank you for taking time to interview, It is a cattle call. A waste of your time to interview at this company!!

Thank you for the feedback. I apologize that you have a negative experience. Based on timing, I believe you are speaking about a hiring event that took place in mid-August. We can acknowledge our missteps in that hiring event. This was a one-time event and is not how we recruit on a daily basis. It seems that if our paths had crossed at a different time, you may have had a different experience, but I certainly do thank you for the feedback and understand your frustration from that event.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Memphis, TN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Novatech (Memphis, TN)

      Interview

This was by far the worst interview experience I’ve gone through. I was doing just fine at my present job when a 3rd party recruiter contacted me about a position here in Memphis. I was initially interested because of the opportunity to move from inside to outside sales. Plus the location is very close to where i live. But the length of the process, number of steps, and total lack of communication was disheartening. First there was 2 phone interviews with the recruiter. After he felt i was a good candidate, there was a 3rd phone interview with their internal HR person. She seemed impressed and set up a in person interview with the hiring manager. When i arrived, he wasn’t ready to interview me because he was on a conference call. So he sent one of his reps to talk to me for 20-30 mins. Then he came and gave me what felt like a half cocked interview. At the end he told me the next step would be a ride along type day with one of his reps. I was fine with this because i thought it would be the final step before an offer. Mind your, i was using PTO from my present job to complete all these interviews. The ride along went great and i was becoming more enthused about the company. That’s when they told me i would need to do another interview. It was going to be a panel interview. In my mind, it seemed excessive, but at this point i was invested. So i took off from work again to do what would turn out to be my 6th interview. By this time, the process had gone from mid November to early January. I thought the interview went well. I got positive feedback from the third party recruiter. I was told i would hear something soon. A week passed with no word. And then two weeks. Finally i reached out for the second time via email. That’s when the third party recruiter called to tell me they were going in another direction. By this time, i was so frustrated with the process that i wasn’t even disappointed with the outcome. I’m not sure where, but there are clearly some wires crossed with this company. My time was not respected at all. Very unprofessional.

Thank you for this feedback - I understand your interview process took longer than normal, while working through an external recruiter. We will certainly take your feedback from the on-site Memphis interview and work to bring forth better practices going forward.
