      Project Manager/Sales Representative Interview

      20 Dec 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Willis, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mueller (Willis, TX) in Nov 2024

      Interview

Applied online and was invited to do a phone interview with corporate recruiter. Recruiter was very professional and upfront on expectations that the position requires an extensive background check (at least past 5 years and previous 3 employers) and is very critical to the business. Cited the role's exact pay is hard to determine as it has a salary/ hourly guarantee but is also sales driven, given a first year compensation expectation of 50-60k with offer of health insurance, vision, 401k and some possible additional perks. 2nd interview was in person with branch manager and 3 other high level people. Branch Manager cited that high performers typically work more than standard working hours each day. Project Manager is the end all be all as they manage everything from sales to warranty claims later on. Sales portion of the job is only inside sales no cold calls or door to door type lead sourcing. People I met had all been with company for more than 10 years and had keen interest on if applicant could relocate in the future for possible new branch locations. They provide a yearly training course you must travel for upon onboarding and position is 100% office based. After first interview they required an extensive and lengthy profile assessment that required algebra and school type questions and this portion of the process was unpleasant and time consuming. Position could be a great opportunity for someone but it did not have the work life balance I was looking for. All interviewers were informative and forthcoming with information and admitted the company was recently purchased and compensation structure could change in the following year under new merger.
