Interview
I went through multiple interview rounds for this position. First was just a general screening with a recruiter, then with the Creative Director and then the rest of the team. I was also informed that I was an early candidate and there would be some time before a decision was made, fair enough. It wasn't until three weeks after meeting the team that I received an automated rejection email informing me that the position was filled, despite following up multiple times to stay in the loop. I also followed up asking for feedback of where I came up short, but as of writing this hasn't been responded to and I don't think I'll get one.
This was an overall positive experience but my issue comes from the end of the process. While I did appreciate the heads up that making a decision would take some time, the lack of communication afterward wasn't great. It also rubbed me the wrong way that the automated rejection email contained a line about selling their product, which I don't think I've seen before.
So unfortunately, I walk away from a role that I was quite excited about and prepared heavily for without anything to go off of to improve.

Interview
I went through multiple rounds for this role, including conversations with the recruiter, hiring manager, the team, and a full portfolio presentation. I invested a significant amount of time preparing and engaging with everyone throughout the process.
I completely understand not being selected. That’s part of it. What I found disappointing was the way it was handled afterward. Receiving a generic, no-reply rejection email after that level of time and effort felt impersonal and, honestly, a bit disrespectful.
What made it worse was being directed to explore opportunities to sell or promote the company’s product immediately after being rejected. That came across as transactional and tone-deaf given the context.
I value thoughtful communication and mutual respect in a hiring process, and this experience didn’t reflect that. It left me feeling like candidates are treated more like numbers than people.
Call with recruiter, not so clear what exactly the role would be in the call. The next steps were also unclear. A month later received a rejection letter. They were very generic questions and the recruiter didn’t know enough about the job itself.
