The interview process is very organized. The interviewers explained next steps to expect in hiring process. The recruiting hiring coordinator is receptive. I was impressed by the detailed concrete questions asked.
It was a short interview, about 25 minutes. Asked about me, why I wanted to work there, what would make me a good addition to the team. Asked about a weakness, an emergency situation, a challenging situation, a lot about teamwork dynamics, etc.

tell me how you would handle a conflict or disagreement with a coworker who might have different values and beliefs than your own?
The interview process at UCSF is pretty structured but welcoming. It usually starts with a phone screen, followed by one or more virtual or in-person panel interviews. Depending on the role, you might meet with HR first, then the hiring manager, and sometimes a group from the team. They’re big on behavioral questions—expect prompts like “Tell me about a time when…” and a focus on UCSF’s core values like collaboration, accountability, and diversity. Communication is usually pretty consistent throughout, and the process can take a couple of weeks from start to offer.
