I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at MCR Property Group (Manchester, England)
Interview
I was invited to attend an onsite interview the day after receiving a call from the internal recruiter. Due to the short notice, I had to rearrange a significant number of prior commitments in order to attend.
During the process, I was assured that I would receive feedback regardless of the outcome. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up communication. Being promised feedback and then receiving none is highly disappointing and, in my opinion, unprofessional.
Afterwards, I noticed several similar concerns mentioned in other reviews regarding communication and candidate experience, which makes this experience less surprising but no less concerning.
Advice to Management: Clear and timely communication with candidates should be a basic professional standard. If feedback is promised, it should be delivered.
Advice to Candidates: Be mindful of short-notice interview requests and set clear expectations around follow-up communication.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview itself felt quite impersonal. Although the interviewer was polite, the discussion largely consisted of reading standard, pre-prepared questions from a sheet and taking notes, with limited natural conversation or meaningful engagement.
What stood out to me was the lack of effort to explore transferable skills from my current role. Instead of discussing how my experience could align with the responsibilities of the position, the focus seemed heavily centered on their internal processes and specific ways of working — areas I would not reasonably be familiar with as an external candidate who has never been employed by the organization.
Overall, the interaction felt formulaic and somewhat rigid, rather than a two-way professional discussion aimed at understanding mutual fit.
Pretty laidback with all the standard questions. Was told I'd get a 2nd interview and then they just never got back to me even when I reached out for feedback. Bad practice.
