I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock, TX)
Interview
She emailed me stating that even though I didn’t have the required amount of experience she was looking for, she still wanted to interview me. During the interview, I stated that I’ve had a difficult time getting a position anywhere because I lacked experience working bedside and refused to go back to working at a hospital because it was traumatic for me. That’s not something I want for myself. Ironically, she asked how I was supposed to gain experience if no one would hire me. She then emailed me a few days later and said I wasn’t selected and “maybe you should go back to the hospital and gain experience”. I have a bachelors, excellent recommendations, and am willing to learn. She made me feel like I’m not worth anything because I was 1.5 years short for the experience she wanted. I do not understand calling me in, knowing I don’t meet the experience requirements, wasting my time, and making me feel small. That saying is true, nurses do eat their young.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lubbock Independent School District (Lubbock, TX) in Aug 2013
Interview
It was a simple and energetic interview. There were 3 people present, 2 were teachers and the other was the principal. Everyone was kind and friendly. They asked simple questions about my philosophy on children and how I would handle certain situations. We reviewed my resume and I was allowed to ask questions.

Interview
My first step was to submit an application. I then interviewed with personnel from LISD in a one on one interview. After that, my application was sent to the school where I then interviewed with an entire grade level panel as well as the school counselor, assistant principal, etc. A few days later, I was called and offered the position from Central Office. The lady that interviewed me from Personnel was nice, but tried very hard to be intimidating. Even said things in my interview that were aimed at making me feel inferior. My group interview at the school with the Principal, grade level teachers, counselor, and Assistant Principal was wonderful, however. Very welcoming and positive, and I left there feeling that I had been given a real opportunity to show them who I was.
